What I'm grateful for this Thanksgiving
For readers in the United States, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. For me, that means a crowded house, a lot of time in the kitchen, and most importantly, being together with my family.
But the thing I'm most grateful for this holiday? It's you.
Without the people who find happiness in the books I write, from clever contemporary romps to angsty Regency historical, I wouldn't be an author. I'd still be dreaming of the day when my words were dressed up in pretty covers and sent out to millions of people to read and enjoy. I am so grateful to each and every one of you who has spent a few hours of your life with my books.
So far in 2019, you amazing readers have already raised over $30 for the National Coalition for the Homeless with sales of the Say You Will books. For the final month of the year, I want to focus on making an impact on child hunger.
And now, a little personal history. When I was young, my family volunteered at local soup kitchens on Thanksgiving. Partly, this was because my mom didn't want to cook, but it was also a chance to share a meal with people who might not otherwise have a place to go or food for the holiday. That’s why I’m donating $1 for every copy sold from the books in my Say You Will series to No Kid Hungry, a national nonprofit to combat child hunger in the U.S.
